Indigestion is often a sign that there are other problems in the body like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gallbladder disease, or ulcers, rather than it being a condition or disease of its own. Indigestion is a reoccurring pain that is persistent and in the middle of the abdomen.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, other wise known as acid reflux or GERD, is a condition where the liquid content in the stomach backs up into the esophagus. It is a chronic condition and it normally lasts the entire life of the person. Most often the reflux occurs in the middle of the day when the person is standing or sitting upright.
Gravity, swallowing, and saliva are protective to the esophagus but this only works if the person is in the upright position. When lying down say at night sleeping gravity is not in effect, people don't swallow while they are sleeping, and the amount of saliva produced is decreased. So at night when the reflux occurs the acid and contents are going to stay in the esophagus longer causing more damage to it.
Causes of acid reflux are complex and in most cases has many causes put together to cause the disease. Most people that have acid reflux however, produce large amounts of stomach acid. Some things that can contribute to it are the lower esophageal sphincter, hiatal hernias, esophageal contractions, and emptying of the stomach. Symptoms of acid reflux are heartburn, regurgitation, and nausea. More severe complications can arise from not treating acid reflux. Ulcer, strictures, barrett's esophagus, asthma, inflammation of the throat and infection in the lungs can all happen.
Changing eating habits can help to treat GERD. Avoiding things like peppermint, chocolate, alcohol, and caffeine can all help. Fatty foods are not good either. However, chewing gum can actually help treat acid reflux, the chewing of gum can stimulate production of saliva and increase swallowing. After swallowing saliva it neutralizes in the esophagus. Antacids can help as well; they neutralize acid in the stomach so that there isn't any acid to reflux. There is also foam barriers and surgeries that can help in really severe cases.

Tridosha system
The central concept of Ayurvedic medicine is the theory that health exists when there is a balance between three fundamental bodily humours or doshas called Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Vata is the impulse principle necessary to mobilize the function of the nervous system.
Pitta is the energy principle which uses bile to direct digestion and hence metabolism into the venous system.
Kapha is the body fluid principle which relates to mucous, lubrication and the carrier of nutrients into the arterial system.
All Ayurvedic physicians believe that these ancient ideas, based in the knowledge discovered by the sages, exist in harmony with physical reality. These concepts allow physicians to examine the homeostasis of the whole system. People may be of a predominant dosha or constitution, but all doshas have the basic elements within them.
The philosophy of Ayurveda
The emergence of different schools of Sanskrit philosophy like Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Vedanta and Mimamsa was another landmark in the history of Indian medicine. The principles expounded in these philosophies facilitated the development within Ayurveda of its theory of humoral pathology which propounds that the human body is composed of Tridoshas, the three humors - Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When these are in equilibrium they are called the Tridhatus.
The body in which these three humors are in a state of equilibrium enjoys perfect health; their disequilibrium causes ill health.
Disease management in Ayurveda
The principles of pharmacology are fundamentally different from those of other systems of medicine, especially evidence-based medicine. Most medicines are prepared form herbs.
Shamana and Shodhana are the two concepts of disease management in Ayurveda. Shamana means alleviation. Shamana methods mitigate the disease and its symptoms. Shodhana means elimination and Shodhana methods aim at the elimination of the basic cause of disease.

Early treatment of irritated gums can prevent gingivitis from progressing to periodontitis. In the initial phase, your gums may swell and bleed easily during brushing and flossing. Gum bleeding is an early indicator of gingivitis.
Plaque which buildup along the gum line is responsible for causing irritation on the gums. The bacteria releases toxic substances which irritate the gums. If you don't remove it, the accumulation will continue. It will become tartar or calculus less than 24 hours. At this point, the bone structure surrounding the teeth is not yet compromised. But if you continue to have poor oral hygiene habits, gingivitis may progress to periodontitis. Then bacteria begin to attack the underlying structures and bone around the teeth and eventually you encounter tooth loss.
To prevent gum irritation, you have to keep the surfaces of the teeth clean. Don't allow any food residue to stick to them. Neutralize any toxins in the mouth. The following methods can help to prevent irritated gums.
1. Since plaque is the culprit, ask your dentist or hygienist to teach brushing techniques that can remove any plaque residue in the gum margins. You should only use a soft bristle toothbrush because hard bristles can further irritate your gums. Brush your teeth thoroughly at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Fluorides help to protect your teeth.
2. Clean the interdental spaces once a day with an interdental toothbrush.
3. Rinse your mouth with dental rinse that contain amine fluoride. This increases the fluoride deposit on your teeth. Mouth rinse also cleans areas which are unreachable by a toothbrush.
4. Visit your dentist every six months to detect any gum problems. Early detection can prevent irritated gums from getting worse.
5. High-sugar and high-carbohydrate food and drinks encourage bacteria growth at the edge of the gums. Bacterial plague thrive on sugar and carbohydrate and multiply by converting them into acids. So, reduce the intake of sugar and carbohydrate.
You can also try these two simple home remedies to treat the gums.
1. Mix sage and hot water to make tea. Gargle it in your mouth.
2. Add a drop of tea tree oil on your toothbrush on top of the toothpaste before brushing. This will relieve irritated gums.
Gum disease begins with plaque. It forms on your teeth without you being aware of it. It irritates your gums. Don't let them get irritated too long as it can further develop into serious gum disease. If you can minimize the formation of plaque on the teeth and below the gum line, you not only improve the health of the gums but also avoid expensive treatment.

You simply roll on the deodorant on your palms, but only do it after you have made sure that it contains the key ingredient of aluminum chlorohydrate, the active drying agent.

Manchego Cheese is an ancient and delicious Spanish cheese which has been made since well before the birth of Christ. We'll give you some background on this great cheese before getting down to business - novel and delicious Manchego cheese recipe suggestions.
Ever heard of Don Quixote? You might remember his tilting at windmills. He's the hero of one of the greatest novels of all-time, written by a man named Miguel de Cervantes. This was all set in the La Mancha region of Spain -- we mention it because it's also the only place in the world where real Manchego Cheese can be made.
There's a board in this pretty region in central Spain which keeps a close eye on the cheese-makers, certifying that the Queso Manchego is made from the milk of the Manchega sheep and aged for 60 days or more. Only then can they put the special D.O. sticker on it certifying that it's an authentic and tasty Manchego.
This whole regulation process has only existed since the early 1980s, but Manchego Cheese has been made in this area for much longer than that. Cervantes mentions it in Don Quixote, which was written in the very early 1600s, so it's at least that old. Or much older -- historians say that there's evidence that very similar cheese was made in La Mancha well before the birth of Christ, so in fact the cheese is thousands of years old! You can't actually buy a thousand year old cheese, though, and probably just as well! Manchego comes in three varieties, depending on how long it's been aged for (in a cave, no less):
A Manchego Fresco is a white, fresh variety of the cheese aged for only a couple of weeks. This is hard to get outside Spain and is not technically a real Manchego, but still has a great smooth, rich flavour. You'll just have to make a trip over there to eat it! Most common is the Manchego Curado which gets between three and six months of aging. It's semi-solid and a yellowish-white, with a mild, nutty taste and a smooth, creamy texture. It's an excellent melting cheese and very complementary to all kinds of flavours. My favourite, however, is the Manchego Viejo. This is aged for up to a year and so is a bit more expensive. The colour is a rich yellow and the cheese is much more solid, with a complex flavour -- an intense, peppery body with a sharp edge to it and the characteristic sheep's milk aftertaste. It's a main course cheese, as you'll see...
Now that we've whetted your appetite, how do you get hold of a delicious Manchego? Most gourmet supermarkets or delicatessens should have some for you to choose from - but look closely to make sure you're buying real Manchego. Make sure that you see the herringbone pattern on the rind, the wheat ear pattern on the top and bottom of the wheel, and most importantly, the official D.O. tab on the back which gives you confidence that it's real. And now it's finally time to make a meal! There's no limit to the versatility of these cheeses, especially if you can get hold of multiple types, but here are some Manchego serving suggestions which work well for us:
First, Spanish tapas platter: a strong Manchego Viejo works perfectly in the middle of a tapas platter, surrounded by gorgeous Spanish Jamon, green olives, crusty bread and dulce de membrillo (a sweet quince paste). This should be your first option for Viejo. For a Manchego Curado, you have infinite options. Treatment Of Irritated Gums
Early treatment of irritated gums can prevent gingivitis from progressing to periodontitis. In the initial phase, your gums may swell and bleed easily during brushing and flossing. Gum bleeding is an early indicator of gingivitis.
Plaque which buildup along the gum line is responsible for causing irritation on the gums. The bacteria releases toxic substances which irritate the gums. If you don't remove it, the accumulation will continue. It will become tartar or calculus less than 24 hours. At this point, the bone structure surrounding the teeth is not yet compromised. But if you continue to have poor oral hygiene habits, gingivitis may progress to periodontitis. Then bacteria begin to attack the underlying structures and bone around the teeth and eventually you encounter tooth loss.
To prevent gum irritation, you have to keep the surfaces of the teeth clean. Don't allow any food residue to stick to them. Neutralize any toxins in the mouth. The following methods can help to prevent irritated gums.
1. Since plaque is the culprit, ask your dentist or hygienist to teach brushing techniques that can remove any plaque residue in the gum margins. You should only use a soft bristle toothbrush because hard bristles can further irritate your gums. Brush your teeth thoroughly at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Fluorides help to protect your teeth.
2. Clean the interdental spaces once a day with an interdental toothbrush.
3. Rinse your mouth with dental rinse that contain amine fluoride. This increases the fluoride deposit on your teeth. Mouth rinse also cleans areas which are unreachable by a toothbrush.
4. Visit your dentist every six months to detect any gum problems. Early detection can prevent irritated gums from getting worse.
5. High-sugar and high-carbohydrate food and drinks encourage bacteria growth at the edge of the gums. Bacterial plague thrive on sugar and carbohydrate and multiply by converting them into acids. So, reduce the intake of sugar and carbohydrate.
You can also try these two simple home remedies to treat the gums.
1. Mix sage and hot water to make tea. Gargle it in your mouth.
2. Add a drop of tea tree oil on your toothbrush on top of the toothpaste before brushing. This will relieve irritated gums.
Gum disease begins with plaque. It forms on your teeth without you being aware of it. It irritates your gums. Don't let them get irritated too long as it can further develop into serious gum disease. If you can minimize the formation of plaque on the teeth and below the gum line, you not only improve the health of the gums but also avoid expensive treatment.
